More than 2,000 Southern California Edison customers in Santa Barbara County were left without power Tuesday after a public safety power shutoff, the Santa Barbara News-Press reported.

SCE spokesman David Eisenhauer said the shutoff was ordered because of heightened wildfire risk in the area, citing high winds, humidity and dry vegetation, according to the News-Press.
